SUMMARY:Roadshow Webinar: Global Fish Tracking System (GFTS)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a webinar about the Global Fish Tracking Service (GFTS) and learn how to effectively use it. This webinar is geared towards scientists working with biologging data and interested in performing fish track reconstruction. We will explore the two key components of our integrated system: \nThe first component focuses on modeling. We’ve developed a Jupyter Hub-based modeling environment designed for running fish track reconstruction algorithms in a hosted and scalable setting. This pangeo-based infrastructure includes various features\, notably the pangeo-fish open-source modeling framework. We’ll demonstrate how to conduct fish track reconstruction using pangeo-fish within the GFTS infrastructure. \nThe second component covers making data accessible to a wider audience through our decision support tool. We’ve created a data processing pipeline that converts output into web-friendly formats\, seamlessly integrating with our graphical user interface\, accessible online via the DestinE platform. \nAbout GFTS\nGFTS revolutionizes ocean protection and fisheries management by streamlining the analysis and visualization of fish biologging data. \nExplore the GFTS on the DestinE Platform! \nScientists can leverage GFTS to convert raw biologging data into fish tracks within a scalable environment. Individual tracks and group-level habitat maps can be generated and smoothly integrated into the GFTS visualization tool. Future ocean conditions in these habitats are computed using the DestinE Climate Adaptation Digital Twin. \nPolicy makers gain clear visualization of critical fish habitats and migration patterns\, enabling evidence-based decisions on marine protected areas and sustainable fishing quotas without requiring technical expertise. \nIf you are a scientist with biologging data\, we encourage you to attend the webinar and connect with us to facilitate your onboarding. \nAgenda\n\nIntroduction to GFTS and its creators\nFish track reconstruction in GFTS\nWhat is fish track reconstruction?\nHow to use pangeo-fish\nGFTS Jupyter Hub: a scalable modeling environment\nDescription of its capabilities\nParallelizing your fish track reconstruction notebooks\nHow to request access and get started\nGFTS Decision Support Tool\nConverting raw model data to web-ready formats using our pipeline\nIntegrating the data into the GFTS web interface\nLive demo of the interface and data for Sea Bass and Pollock\nSummary and Q&A\n\nRecording

SUMMARY:Roadshow Webinar: DestinE in action - meet the first DESP use cases
DESCRIPTION:In this phase of Destination Earth\, the three core components are being validated by dedicated use cases. In this webinar\, you’ll meet the first 5 use cases procured to validate the Destination Earth Service Platform (DESP) being developed by ESA. \nThe use cases will be applied across a wide range of application domains\, including agriculture\, natural resource management\, fisheries\, and the polar area. In practise\, use cases will develop software applications that use data and services from DestinE. The purpose is to create predictions that can be used in those different domains and that can inform climate change adaption and extreme weather policy at various levels. During this webinar you can hear directly from each use case about their methods and objectives. \nWho should attend?\n\nDestinE Contractors\nProspective Users\nInterested Parties\nMember State Representatives\nMedia\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\nTime\nTitle\n\n\n\n\n12:00\nIntroduction\nRob Carrillo (Trust-IT)\n\n\n12:05\nWhat is the DESP? – Download Slides\nBarbara Borgia (Serco)\n\n\n\n12:15\nUse Case Lightning Presentations – Moderation by Antonio Romeo (RHEA) \n\nGlobal Fish Tracking System (GFTS) – Mathieu Woillez (Ifremer) – Download Slides\nUrbanSquare – Tarek Habib (MURMURATION) – Download Slides\nCITYNEXUS – Alessandra Feliciotti (MindEarth) – Download Slides\nDestination Renewable Energy (DRE) – Georgios Koutalieris (ENORA INNOVATION) – Download Slides\nDestinE Sea Ice Decision Enhancement (DESIDE) – David Arthurs (Polar View) – Download Slides\n\n\n\n\n12:50\nAudience Q&A\nRob Carrillo (Trust-IT)
