SUMMARY:BiDS Big Data from Space 2025
DESCRIPTION:Big Data from Space 2025 (BiDS25)\, held from 29 September to 3 October 2025 in Riga\, is a biennial event co-organised by the European Space Agency (ESA)\, the European Commission\, and the EU Satellite Centre (SatCen). It brings together experts from academia\, industry\, and public institutions to explore how large-scale space data and technologies—such as AI and cloud computing—can address global challenges in science\, sustainability\, and security. \nThe programme includes satellite workshops (29–30 September)\, plenary sessions\, and a code sprint (1–3 October)\, providing a platform for innovation\, collaboration\, and knowledge exchange. \nBiDS25 aims to showcase the societal impact of Big Data from Space\, highlight emerging technologies\, promote open science and interoperability\, and explore future directions in digital infrastructure and responsible AI. \nThemes include policy transformation\, climate and security challenges\, data innovation across space domains\, digital governance\, cloud-native infrastructures\, and disruptive technologies. \nDestinE will be represented by Serco\, through the presentation “Bringing Earth’s Digital Twin to life: advancing the DestinE Platform for Big Data exploratin” on October 1st at 11:00\, as part of the session “Towards Digital Twins: Integrating Data\, Models\, and Insight”. \nDetails and Agenda can be found here

SUMMARY:EuroGEO Workshop 2025
DESCRIPTION:EuroGEO Workshop 2025 will bring together the European Earth Observation (EO) community under the theme “Advancing collective Earth Intelligence”. Organised by the European Commission\, the EuroGEO Secretariat and the Netherlands Space Office\, the event will highlight Europe’s united contribution to the GEO Work Programme and showcase how policy\, research and innovation are shaping the transition from EO services to Earth Intelligence. \nDestinE contribution\nDestinE will contribute insights on co-design methods as a key enabler for Earth Intelligence. Franka Kunz (ESA) will support two sessions from this perspective: \n11.00 – 12.45 | The Vision for Earth Intelligence – From Policy to ImpactThis plenary session will present a shared vision of Earth Intelligence as a driver of policy design\, implementation and systemic change. The discussion will explore how European initiatives\, including DestinE\, align with global frameworks and national priorities. \n16.00 – 17.30 | Parallel 3: Co-design method for Earth ObservationHosted at MINES Paris PSL\, this session will focus on co-design approaches for bridging the gap between EO experts and potential users — a long-standing challenge limiting both commercial uptake and societal impact in Europe. Building on methods pioneered in e-Shape and now advanced through DestinE\, the session will demonstrate how co-design helps to create user-driven services that deliver economic and societal value. Reflections on six years of development will highlight the role of co-design as a central element in enabling Earth Intelligence. \nMore information and Registration
