SUMMARY:Artificial intelligence and Earth Observation: from Innovation to Services
DESCRIPTION:“Artificial intelligence and Earth Observation: from Innovation to Services” is a two-day hybrid workshop taking place on 9-10 March 2026 (09:00–17:00 CET)\, in Brussels and online. \nThe event brings together Copernicus and DestinE users\, Earth observation and digital service providers\, policy makers\, industry\, academia and IT experts to explore how the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is transforming the way Earth observation data are developed\, delivered and used. \nWith more than a decade of Copernicus data now available\, the convergence of AI/ML\, High Performance Computing\, big data and Digital Twins is opening the door to a new generation of applications and services. The workshop will focus on how these innovations can be translated into operational\, trustworthy and policy-relevant services\, while addressing emerging user needs and expectations. \nThe programme will feature high-level keynote talks\, technical briefings\, panel discussions and live demonstrations\, with a particular emphasis on AI-driven innovation\, responsible use of data\, and synergies between Copernicus and Destination Earth (DestinE) in view of the upcoming MFF 2028-2034.\nThe workshop is hosted by the European Commission Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS)\, with support from the Space Research Unit of HaDEA. \nParticipation is hybrid: on-site registration is now closed due to full capacity\, while online attendance remains open. Live streaming will be available\, with interactive Q&A sessions via a Slido-type tool. \nRegister for online attendance

SUMMARY:Webinar: EDEN: Unlocking Earth Observation Data for Research and Innovation
DESCRIPTION:Description\nEDEN is a service developed by MEEO designed to facilitate seamless access to Earth Observation data and computing infrastructure within Destination Earth. The service provides programmatic and user-friendly interfaces to discover\, visualise\, and access data from multiple federated sources\, as well as a selection of Analysis-Ready Cloud-Optimised datasets generated and maintained by the service through dedicated data transformation workflows. \nThis webinar will provide an overview of the service and its role in enhancing data accessibility within the DestinE ecosystem. Experts from MEEO will present the service capabilities and demonstrate how they can support the scientific community in developing and running data-driven research workflows. A use case will also be presented during the webinar\, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a dedicated session with the experts. \nAgenda\n\nWelcome and introduction\nBrief introduction to the DestinE Platform\nEDEN service overview\n\nAccess to data & infrastructure\nEnhancing EO Data Accessibility\n\n\nUse cases from the community and scientific applications\n\nPhD GPU training pilot activity with GOME-2 super-resolution\n\n\nQ&A session\nConclusion\n\nRegistration\nRegistration for the event is now closed. Stay tuned for the slides and recording!
