2025 EUMETSAT Climate Symposium
October 28 - October 30
The EUMETSAT Climate Symposium, From Space to Climate ServiceRegular provision of technological capabilities, resources, More: Co-creation in Action, will take place in 2025 and focuses on strengthening collaboration between policy and decision makers, operational climate service providers at national and European levels, the research community, and EUMETSATEuropean Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological itself.
The event aims to unlock the full potential of satellite climate data to benefit society using the latest technology. The symposium will centre on Europe, addressing the opportunities and challenges faced by its citizens.
This event is designed for policy and decision makers at all administrative levels, developers working with satellite climate data workflows, providers of operational climate data and services, their users, and experts in cloud computing technologies that support co-creation. Through keynote talks and discussions, the symposium will facilitate connections and networking between these communities, promoting partnerships and collaborative action.
The 2025 EUMETSAT Climate Symposium will provide a platform to update your understanding of global climate policy and its impacts, express your needs and expectations towards climate data providers, network with climate data providers, climate information service providers, and decision makers, and gain an overview of available geospatial climate information and related services, including Copernicus services.
The outcomes of the symposium will help shape the design and provision of satellite-based climate data products, the support and services offered to users of these products, and the design of upcoming space-based Earth observation systems.
Sessions will focus on climate policy and socio-economic benefits of climate data, usage of satellite climate products in applications and their future design, interaction between research and operations in joint application development, and the co-evolution of data access and utilisation.
From the DestinE initiative’s perspective, a presentation on cloud services supporting climate action is planned, although the details are still being finalised. More information about DestinE’s role in the event will be shared soon.
We invite you to engage in constructive discussions, share your insights and visions, and help shape the future of climate services.
