The 5th Destination Earth (DestinE) User eXchange will take place in Brussels, Belgium, and online, on 9 and 10 June 2026. The User eXchange is the central user engagement event of the DestinE initiative, led by the European Commission (DG CNECT), and brings together the growing community of users and partners involved in the initiative.

The DestinE User eXchange events provide an opportunity for users to learn about DestinE’s progress. From experienced academic data users to developers and policymakers, the User eXchanges are designed to foster dialogue and networking. These events bring together users, service providers and the DestinE team to ensure that the platform delivers applications and services that meet diverse needs.

This edition will be hosted at Tour & Taxis in Brussels and held as a hybrid event, offering participants the choice to join in person or online. The 2026 User eXchange will feature presentations and discussions on the latest developments in the DestinE initiative, including the Digital Twins, Digital Twin Engine, AI models and solutions, Data Lake, and the DestinE platform and its services. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts, explore how DestinE supports Europe’s climate resilience and adaptation efforts, and share their own experiences and ideas.

The 5th User eXchange will be hosted by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and co-organised with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), in collaboration with the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium (RMI).

Prior to the DestinE User eXchange, participants have the possibility to join the Engaging users with DestinE’s energy research Public Workshop and by the DestinE Co-Design Workshop.
