Destination Earth (DestinE) will be featured at the European Geosciences Union (EGU), General Assembly 2025, in Vienna, Austria.

The annual EGU General Assembly is Europe’s largest and most prominent geosciences event, attracting more than 16,000 scientists from all over the world.

In the session “Machine Learning and Digital Twins for Earth System Observation and Prediction”, experts from ESA, EUMETSAT and ECMWF will explore Digital Twins as a groundbreaking approach to enhancing climate resilience, disaster risk management, and sustainable development.

This session will focus on innovative data sources and benchmarks for weather and climate modelling, the adaptation of large-scale physics- and data-driven Earth system models, and the integration of real-time, multi-disciplinary data. Additionally, speakers will showcase practical applications of these technologies in tackling climate impacts, improving resilience, and promoting sustainability.

There will be an ESA booth at the EGU where representatives from the DestinE platform (Serco) will give short presentations and participants will be able to attend and ask questions.
