ESA Digital Twin Earth Components: Open Science Meeting
February 2 @ 1:00 pm - February 4 @ 12:00 pm CET
The ESA Digital Twin Earth Components: Open Science Meeting will take place at ESA ESRIN, between 2 and 4 February 2026.
There is an undeniable urgency to act on the unprecedented ‘triple crisis’ of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Addressing these challenges calls for more advanced and integrated ways to observe, model, and forecast Earth’s systems – and digital twins have become a central part of this evolution.
Within this landscape, the ESA Digital Twin Earth (DTE) programme focuses on strengthening the role of Earth observation data and satellite capabilities in the development of digital twin ecosystems.
This upcoming meeting will serve as a networking opportunity and invitation for scientists, research organisations, policymakers, innovators and digital twin projects. Attendees will share their thoughts and help shape the future use of Earth observation in digital twins across Europe.
The developers of the Destination Earth (DestinE) Platform will also take part in the event. They will host a presentation on innovation and collaboration and a session on how service providers can onboard their services onto the DestinE Platform.
