On 20 September 2024, DestinE was presented at the OECD Global Forum on Technology by the Deputy Head of the DG Connect Unit C1 (High Performance Computing and Applications), Liina Munari, of the European Commission. The event was held from 19-20 September in Paris, France.
The 2024 Global Forum on Technology (GFTech) event convened policymakers, technologists and stakeholders to explore visions of the human future that will guide responsible and rights-oriented technology development and deployment. In this future, emerging technologies foster resilient societies, better address climate change, and cooperation leads to policies that help bridge digital and technological divides.
DestinE was presented in a tech talk, which was in the context of a session on the High impact area of Sustainable digitally-augmented spaces. These discussions considered how digital twins and other emerging technologies can be expected to converge and change the spaces people will occupy in the future.
