Webinar: Harnessing the Power of Destination Earth

High-resolution digital twin technology is transforming the way we anticipate and manage solar energy risks. By integrating satellite observations, weather models, and renewable energy data, the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative is enabling more accurate and reliable forecasting for the energy sector.

The Earth Observation for Energy Risks (EO4ER) consortium – including OHB Digital Services, the Smart Grids Research Group at THU, and Reuniwatt – has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESAEuropean Space Agency) to develop a Digital Twin Component prototype for solar energy as part of DestinE. Their work focuses on leveraging advanced digital twin technology to enhance energy forecasting, improve grid resilience, and support informed decision-making for a sustainable energy future.

In this session, participants will:

• Understand the role of DestinE in solar energy risk management – Learn how digital twin technology is used to anticipate and mitigate solar energy risks, improving forecasting accuracy and reliability.

• Explore integrated data approaches – Discover how satellite data, weather models, and renewable energy sources are combined to optimise solar energy production and grid resilience.
