Analyse satellite data with your AI models on the DestinE Platform

A new integration between two services on the DestinE PlatformSelf-standing DestinE system component, interfacing with the More – GeoAI and DestinE Streamer – lets users build their own AI models and analyse Sentinel-2 data in one place. This is another step towards making complex Earth observation data analysis easier for both experts and beginners.

GeoAI, developed by FlyPix AI, allows users to create and apply their own AI-based models, even without prior expertise in artificial intelligence or geospatial data processing. In practice, this means users can upload their own EO datasets, define what they want to detect, and train a model tailored to their specific needs. Once trained, these models can be reused across different analyses.

This flexibility is important: users can focus on what matters most for their use case instead of having to rely on pre-existing models. A researcher studying agriculture along the Nile, for example, might train a model to identify circular irrigation patterns. Meanwhile, someone analysing urban expansion in a European city would instead focus on detecting built-up areas.

GeoAI has been available since 2023, and now, users can benefit from these capabilities directly on the DestinE Streamer.

The DestinE Streamer service, developed by GeoVille, operates much like a video streaming platform such as Netflix or Filmin: users pick a dataset or data collection and it streams it for the region they want to explore, helping users visualise large datasets more simply and intuitively, without having to download terabytes of data. The service achieves this through high compression rates without compromising quality.

Now that GeoAI is integrated into DestinE Streamer, users can build their own AI models and apply them directly to data collections – all in one place. This simplifies the process: users can apply their models to large datasets in real time, automate the detection of features in the satellite imagery they want to study and do it all seamlessly without needing to use any other application.

Thanks to the well-structured service environment of the platform, GeoAI was integrated into DestinE Streamer in under three weeks. This rapid integration demonstrates how the DestinE platform allows service providers to efficiently combine complementary capabilities.
