Harnessing AI for weather and climate preparedness: from vision to action

Artificial intelligence is transforming how Europe anticipates and responds to weather and climate extremes. A high-level event in Brussels, organised by ECMWFEuropean Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts More with the support of the European Commission’s DG CNECT and in media partnership with Science|Business, brought together leaders from across Europe to showcase the continent’s growing capabilities in AI for weather and climate preparedness.
Speakers from the European Commission, ECMWFEuropean Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts More, and national meteorological institutes highlighted how initiatives such as DestinE, EuroHPC and AI Factories are combining scientific excellence, advanced computing, and trusted collaboration to deliver the next generation of AI-powered forecasting and climate services.
