Watch: Destination Earth use cases and community explained
Two recently published videos shed light on Destination Earth (DestinE) by examining key elements of its development – the ESAEuropean Space Agency Use Cases and the Community.
The first video, put together by the team of the DestinE PlatformSelf-standing DestinE system component, interfacing with the More Use Cases Project (DEUC), explains the role use cases play in showcasing the early impact of the DestinE Platform. These applications not only demonstrate the usefulness of DestinE for current and potential users, but also provide an opportunity to test and validate the platform.
In the video, Antonio Romeo from Starion Group offers insights into the purpose behind the use cases and why they were chosen as a means to engage a broader community.

The second video explains how the DestinE community plays a fundamental role in the initiative. As the ultimate users of the DestinE PlatformSelf-standing DestinE system component, interfacing with the More, Digital Twin Engine, Digital Twins and Data Lake, the community is at the heart of DestinE. From developers working on creating new applications to policymakers seeking insight for decision-making, users are a crucial piece for building a twin of our planet. It is therefore on DestinE to involve diverse end users to co-design, validate, develop and use the initiative’s capabilities in an open, inclusive and transparent environment.
Rob Carillo from Trust-IT Services, along with Costas Bissas and Zorena Tsifodimou from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, discuss in the video their experiences of building the community and the impact of active engagement on the project’s success.

If you would like to be part of the DestinE community, you can sign up for the DestinE Platform and explore the services available. The platform will be enhanced in the near future with a user forum where participants can exchange ideas and collaborate. You can also sign up for the DestinE newsletter to stay updated and provide feedback through occasional surveys. Getting involved early will give you a chance to shape the project’s direction and collaborate on tackling complex environmental and climate challenges.
