About Destination Earth Data Lake

As part of Destination Earth initiatives, EUMETSAT is one of the three entrusted tasked with delivering the DestinE Data Lake (DEDL). DEDL is one of the components of DestinE aside from the DestinE Core Service Platform (DESP) being developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and, the Digital Twin Engine and two high-priority digital twins developed by European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The DestinE Data Lake is an essential component that references and provides seamless access to DestinE Digital Twins data and large number of external data spaces. The Data Lake supports near-data processing to maximise throughput and service scalability, and implements big data distributed workflows.
