Destination Earth Framework for preparing AI-Ready Data (DEFAIR)

Open tender
calendar_month November 20, 2024

Description

It is often stated that data scientists spend 80% of their time on data preparation and only 20% on exploiting it for gaining insights. The toolset to be implemented via this procurement shall reduce time and effort spent by data scientists on data preprocessing activities.

The procurement covers the design, implementation, maintenance, support to operations and integration of DEFAIR (Destination Earth Framework for preparing AI-Ready data) in different Destination Earth Data Lake services and environments. This shall enable DestinE users to customize and transform the data provided by the Destination Earth Data Lake prior to loading and exploiting the outputs in AI/ML frameworks and applications.

About Destination Earth Data Lake
As part of the DestinE initiative, EUMETSAT is one of the three entrusted tasked with delivering the DestinE Data Lake (DEDL). DEDL is one of the components of DestinE, alongside aside from the DestinE Platform developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Digital Twin Engine and two high-priority digital twins developed by European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
The DestinE DataLake is an essential component that references and provides seamless access to DestinE Digital Twins data and large number of external data spaces. The Data Lake supports near-data processing to maximise throughput and service scalability, and implements big data distributed workflows.
