The Invitation to Tender DE_375 – Demonstrator for European Central Bank Climate Risk Quantification in Agriculture will soon be published. This procurement will develop a demonstrator that uses the capabilities of Destination Earth (DestinE) to support the European Central Bank in assessing climate-related risks in the agricultural sector.

Building on DestinE’s high-resolution simulations and data resources, the demonstrator will integrate climate information with existing economic and agricultural datasets. It aims to generate insights into climate hazards, their probability and intensity, and their potential effects on agricultural productivity and food prices. The results will serve as a proof of concept for future services tailored to central banking needs, including broader applications across financial and economic risk assessment.

The demonstrator will also contribute to the work of the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System by showcasing how detailed, sector-specific climate impact indicators from DestinE can enhance physical risk assessments and climate stress-testing methodologies.
